Delrin® acetal homopolymer (Polyoxymethylene POM) is the ideal material for the front chain slider.  It combines low-friction and high-wear resistance with the high strength and stiffness such an  application requires.  Should be the last chain slider you ever have to buy.  Will probably outlast the bike.
