This rear shock is ideal for heavy loads or for lifting the rear of the bike. It provides up to 2" of lift if desired. Great for bikes with lots of luggage, heavier riders over 225 lbs, or for lifting the rear to match front fork extensions. Features an 800 lb spring that is preload adjustable and 20 clicks of rebound adjustment. This shock is a long travel shock that adds about 1.5" of total travel to the rear of the bike. Recommended for use with similar front fork modifications such as heavier springs and/or emulators, as well as our chain roller kit.
Install note: For correct installation the shrader valve will be on the top side and facing rearward. This puts the rebound adjuster screw on the bottom and facing rearward for easy adjustment. Our standard setting is 4-5 clicks out from fully seated. Recommend nitrogen pressure is 75-125 psi.
TW200 Heavy duty/Touring/Lift rear shock
Lift the bike from the belly. Remove rear fuel tank mounting screw. Remove top and bottom rear shock mounting bolts. Slide OEM shock out of the bottom. Replace with New long travel shock and reinstall hardware. Air valve should be at the top and facing rearward.
Use the spring preload adjustment nuts to set rear dynamic sag at or about 50mm with rider standing on pegs, adjust as needed. ( this is hard to do in the bike, removal may be necessary)
- Sag is the amount the bike compresses from fully extended with the rider on board
- This means the first measurement must be taken with the wheels off the ground (not loaded)
- Then, for a dirt bike, we put the rider on the bike standing on the pegs.
- The difference between these two measurements is the total sag.
Set charge pressure to 75-125 psi, adjust as needed.
Set rebound adjustment screw to half adjustability. If it has 20 clicks, set to 10 and adjust to rider preference as needed.
